My First Foaling Experience

Rainbow Bridge

14.3 Hands

Nikki is a real nice Solid Registered Breeding Stock Paint Dun Mare.  Though a solid we chose to keep her as her dam had only had ONE other filly, a Sorrel Solid in all the years we bred her.  She threw NOTHING but stud colts.  As we try to keep a filly out of our best mares to carry on the line, we figured we had better save this one as we didn't know if we would ever get another filly.

She would make an excellent Barrel prospect.  She is pretty hot and wants go.  She has a lot of spring in her back end to take off and run them barrels.  After sitting for 4 years we got her out to work her and see what she had retained.  She never offered to buck and retained what she learned.  This is a gal that wants to work and needs a job to do.  If you are looking for a barrel horse she would be worth checking out.  With her pedigree filled full of speed she could put you in the money every time.

Nikki is bred for speed/performance without a doubt.  She and her foals would be good Barrel Racing/Gaming prospects.  On the Dams side Nikki has Easily Smashed and Majestic Man by Majestic Prince by Raise a Native by Native Dancer on her papers, Easy Jet, Cassady Casanova and Merry Mayor one off her papers, Lena's Bar, Twayna and Top Moon two off her papers.  Other Thoroughbred greats include Moon Deck, Top Deck, Jet Deck, Three Bars and more.

And it doesn't stop there.  On the sires side Nikki has Bengo Charger - SI 106 on her papers and Go Man Go and Easy Jet two off the papers.  In addition there are plenty of speed horses a little further back as well... both Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred.

On the Paint side there is "Smokey Commander" who was the 1981 and 1982 Hi-Point Quarter Horse Stallion WQHA, a Multiple Grand Champion Halter Stallion with an ROM in Halter.   He is the Sire of Multiple Halter and Pleasure Futurity Winners.   Smokey Commanders sire, "Smokey Music Bar" was Undefeated IBHA Reserve World Halter Champion and the Sire of AQHA Champion, Superior Performance and Halter Point Earning Offspring.

Nikki is halter broke, loads, good with the farrier, walks in water, over logs/bridges/plastic, stands tied, round pen works and of course is broke to ride.  She is easy to catch, though since she just had her first foal she is a little protective of him and will walk a couple steps away from you when you go in the stall to bring them out.  Once he is weaned she'll go back to her usual self.  She has been exposed to a lot of things... Cars, Trucks, Tractors, John Deere Gator, Irrigation and Haying Equipment, Post Hole Auger, Power Tools, Hammering, Dogs, Cats, Prairie Dogs, Weasels, Fox, Coyotes, Deer, Mule, Donkey, Goats, Pigs, Cattle, Rabbits, Snakes, Birds of all kinds and much more.  She takes it all in stride as just another day.

Due to the fact that we planned on keeping her we put a lot more training into her than we do to the colts that are for sale.  She went to the trainer at weaning for a month of ground work.  We took her back as a yearling for another month of ground work.  As a long 2 year old we took her back again for 4 months of riding training.

Nikki's dam is the type of mare we can just let set for 4-5 years and hop on her and go with no problems.  A real honest horse with NO buck or other bad habits.  Nikki, as well, is honest as well and has never so much as offered to buck.  Nikki's dam has had several foals for us that we sold.  I have heard back from many of the new owners that their foals matured and were very easy to train with no buck as well.  They have been placed in Barrel Racing Homes, Breeding Operations, Ranches doing Cow Work and family homes as riding horses.  All have turned out to be just like Missy... honest, safe, trainable horses with good dispositions.

In 2013, we FINALLY got a Colored Filly out of Nikki's dam, Missy.  Good thing too as we have now retired her due to age and how hard it is on her during the winters.  Thus, we can now offer Nikki for sale.  At only 7 years old you should be able to take her any way you want to go.  Asking price is $3500.00 FIRM.

With the purchase of Nikki you are entitled to a FREE Breeding to any standing stud here at Regal Paints.  You only pay for the mare care at the going rate for the year you use your FREE Breeding.  You may breed ANY mare that you own.  It does NOT have to be to the horse you bought from us.

In addition... if you show the horse you buy from us, once you earn 10 Verifiable Points with the APHA we will issue a $100.00 refund.  You just need to notify us that you have earned the points.  Once the points show up on the APHA web site we will send you a check.
